This is what a CRM should do – does yours?
We hear a lot about what a CRM is designed to do, but what’s important to the people using them?
The team behind Capsule, one of the most popular CRMs, have collated hundreds of customer requests in order to gain qualitative data on what people want from a CRM. And they know what they are talking about as Capsule goes above and beyond what many other CRMs offer – Capsule is a is a CRM that allows you to track all contacts, not just clients, right from the first communication you have with them, through sales pipeline opportunities, the delivery of existing contracts and on into further sales and opportunities.
It’s a simple, yet highly effective CRM system which we help people to implement, creating a bespoke version for every different business we come across.
Capsule collated what they found and created an article which looked at the key expectations of a CRM, they cited the following things:
- Ease of use – because Covid has changed the way we work, and teams are more often remote, visibility and ease of collaboration have rocketed up the charts when it comes to what is needed from your CRM. Importantly, 92% of clients think Capsule is easy to use, and 93% think it’s easy for beginners;
- Integrations – CRMs need to bring business processes together as well as people so the other platforms that they integrate with are a make-or-break factor in which CRM to choose. Capsule is heavily integrated with Outlook email, as well as Mailchimp and several of the top accounting apps, including Quickbooks and Xero;
- Scalability – if you’re investing in a CRM, you’re intending to build your business and it’s therefore paramount that it can grow with you. A convincing 58% of clients told Capsule this was a priority. Keeping it simple but effective (so nothing over-engineered) was popular so that the CRM takes the weight and doesn’t add to the to-do list.
One of the things we at Blake Consultants (and our clients) love about Capsule is the focus it gives to the pipeline. A business cannot grow without sales and Capsule makes it easy to track your opportunities right from the very first contact (look out for more detail on this in a forthcoming blog). Not only that, it lets you track the opportunity up until the point it becomes live business delivery, and beyond, by giving you the ability to record ongoing work and link potential ‘up sales’ to the same client.
Of course, this is by no means an exhaustive list of the benefits of a CRM: we often describe Capsule as another member of the team because it offers similar benefits in terms of removing pressure and overwhelm and saving time.
It lets you effectively create a clone of your best self; by inputting your processes and working routines into the system, you no longer have to worry if your memory lets you down or you start the day lacking a little enthusiasm. Capsule has everything recorded in a series of steps you can follow, almost without thinking. Therefore, there is never a reason to let a bad day be an unproductive day.
A good CRM is an extension of your memory. As busy business owners, wearing several hats in our daily life, it should come as no surprise that we are only able to retain five things at any one time. Capsule provides a very necessary extension to this human memory and enables us to keep the multiple plates spinning.
There are many, many more ways a Capsule CRM can help, you can read more here.
Clients on Cloud 9
These days it’s also critical that your CRM is a cloud-based one as data is far safer when it is regularly backed up. In addition, you have the peace of mind that comes with guaranteed additional space being available as your business grows.
One of the benefits of using Capsule as your cloud-based CRM is its simplicity. This makes day to day usage a pleasure but also removes any migration and onboarding headaches. People often think changing CRMs is a little like moving bank accounts – a headache-inducing exercise that they’d rather not attempt, but this simply isn’t the case with Capsule, especially when you have us on hand to shoulder the majority of the transfer activity.
Experience is all around
At Blake Consultants, we’re experienced in migrating businesses and their data across the Capsule and because we work exclusively with this CRM system, we know all the ins and outs, challenges and short-cuts to get you where you need to be.
And our job is made all the easier because Capsule is a simple, user-friendly CRM that punches above its weight. In fact, it was recently named a ‘top CRM product’ by Capterra, placed as an Emerging Favourites for Predictive Lead Scoring Software, CRM Software and Contact Management Software categories of their Shortlist Report for 2022.
